About BBC Radio Asian Network
BBC Asian Network is a UK-based digital radio station owned and operated by the BBC. Launched on 4 November 1996 on AM in the Midlands, it became available nationally on DAB on 28 October 2002.
The station primarily serves the British Asian community, offering a blend of music, talk, and cultural programming.
While the station broadcasts mainly in English, it retains Sunday evening shows in South Asian languages. Production centres are located in London and Birmingham.
