Heart Bedford first went on air in 1982 as Chiltern Radio, broadcasting to Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas. The station became a well-loved part of the community, known for its local news, music, and entertainment.

In March 2009, Chiltern Radio was rebranded as Heart as part of Global Radio’s move to create the Heart Network. Today, Heart Bedford plays the biggest hits and feel-good favourites, alongside local news and information for Bedfordshire listeners.
