Heart Crawley & Surrey originally launched in October 1983 as Radio Mercury, serving Crawley, Horsham, and the surrounding Surrey area with local music and news. The station became a key part of the community over the following decades.

In March 2009, Radio Mercury was rebranded as Heart, joining Global Radio’s Heart Network. Today, Heart Crawley & Surrey plays the biggest hits and feel-good favourites, alongside local news and travel updates for listeners across Surrey and West Sussex.
