Heart Edinburgh & East Scotland originally launched as Radio Forth in 1975, serving Edinburgh and the surrounding Lothians with local music, news, and entertainment. Over the years, it became a familiar voice in the region’s radio landscape.

In 2009, Radio Forth was rebranded as Heart, joining Global Radio’s Heart Network. Today, Heart Edinburgh & East Scotland plays the biggest hits and feel-good favourites, alongside local news, travel updates, and entertainment for listeners across Edinburgh and East Scotland.
