Heart West Midlands originally launched in 1994 as 100.7 Heart FM, serving Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and surrounding areas with local music, news, and entertainment. Its early format focused on soft adult contemporary music, featuring artists like Lionel Richie and Tina Turner.

In 2009, 100.7 Heart FM became part of the wider Heart Network under Global Radio. Today, Heart West Midlands plays the biggest hits and feel-good favourites, alongside local news, travel updates, and entertainment for listeners across the West Midlands.
