Radio Wimborne has been at the heart of the local community since its launch in 2014, proving that passion and dedication can build something truly lasting. What started as an online station, supported by Wimborne BID and a group of committed volunteers, has grown into a thriving community radio station that continues to connect people through music, news, and live events.

Run entirely by volunteers, Radio Wimborne is more than just a place to tune in—it’s a platform for the local community. We actively support festivals, local events, and other volunteer-led projects, helping to give them the exposure they deserve. Over the years, we’ve also collaborated with Bournemouth University media students, provided work experience opportunities, and welcomed live performers into our studio.

Our mission is simple: to bring Wimborne and the surrounding areas closer together by delivering local news, great music, and live event coverage.
