Launched on 18 January 2021, it emerged as a community-focused alternative following the rebranding of Spirit FM to Greatest Hits Radio. The station is operated by VeeToo Trade and offers a blend of adult contemporary music alongside comprehensive local news, events, and community coverage. Programming highlights include the breakfast show with Tanya McCarthy and the drive-time slot with Ian Crouch. V2 Radio is committed to being “The Spirit of the South,” engaging with local audiences through events, outside broadcasts, and support for regional businesses and charities.
