BBC Radio Sussex is the BBC’s local radio station serving the English county of Sussex. It commenced broadcasts on 14 February 1968 as BBC Radio Brighton and was one of the first BBC Local Radio stations in the UK. The station was renamed BBC Radio Sussex on 22 October 1983 to reflect its expanded coverage across the entire county.

In 1994, BBC Radio Sussex merged with BBC Radio Surrey to form BBC Southern Counties Radio, which later became BBC Sussex again in 2009. The station operates from studios in Brighton and Guildford, with a shared editorial area covering Sussex and parts of Surrey and Hampshire.

BBC Radio Sussex broadcasts a mix of local news, talk, music, and sports programming. It provides extensive coverage of local events, issues, and communities, with a focus on engaging with listeners across the region.
